Privacy Policy

Last updated: 19 June 2026

This policy explains what "Life of Mogwai" collects, how it's used, and your choices. The blog is an independent publication operated by Justin Irabor.

What I collect

  • Subscription details: the email address you provide when subscribing, your name if you choose to give it, and (for paid members) your tier and status.
  • Payment information: handled entirely by Stripe. I never see or store your card details.
  • Email engagement: whether newsletters are delivered, opened, or clicked, to monitor deliverability and improve content.
  • Web analytics: privacy-friendly, cookie-free page-view stats. No cross-site tracking and no advertising profiles.

How I use it

  • To send the newsletter and content you subscribed to.
  • To operate memberships and process payments.
  • To send essential account email (sign-in links, confirmations, receipts).
  • To keep the site secure and understand which content resonates.

I do not sell or rent your personal information.

Cookies

The site uses essential cookies only — to keep you signed in to your account. Analytics do not use cookies.

Who processes data on my behalf

  • Ghost (self-hosted) — content and member accounts
  • Mailgun (Sinch) — email delivery
  • Stripe — payment processing
  • Tinybird — aggregate, cookieless analytics
  • Fly.io — hosting

These providers process data only to provide their service.

Your choices

  • Unsubscribe anytime via the link in any newsletter, or from your account page.
  • Access, correct, or delete your data by getting in touch through the blog.
  • Subscribing is optional and based on your consent.

Retention

I keep subscriber data while you remain subscribed and remove or anonymize it on request or after you unsubscribe, except records I must retain for legal reasons (e.g., payments).

Changes

I may update this policy; material changes will be noted here with a new date.
